Aberystwyth Innovation and Enterprise Campus (AberInnovation) in partnership with IoD Wales, Ceredigion County Council, Powys County Council and Antur Cymru Enterprise presented an exclusive webinar to discuss the perspectives and the opportunities for developing the Mid Wales economy.
Facilitated by Robert Lloyd Griffiths, IoD’s National Director, the debate was fuelled by an expert panel of leaders from across the region and explored ways to work collaboratively to support the development of enterprise in Mid Wales through sustainable economic development.
Key themes addressed included:
- How to advance through the current challenges of Brexit and Covid and forge a progressive, outward-looking and optimistic future for the region.
- How to project forward-looking collaboration between both Public and Private sectors and form a positive narrative for economic development in Mid Wales.
- How to inform and highlight the business support that is available.
Bronwen Raine MD, at Antur Cymru Enterprise, gave a valuable insight into innovative business solutions that businesses have developed in response to the Covid crisis. One of these solutions included a Mid Wales business who have secured the supply chain normally reliant on buying from suppliers in Europe by investing and developing in-house fulfilment.
Bronwen hailed the webinar a great success;
“It was inspiring to see the number of businesses and organisations in Mid Wales that are keen to look at the innovation agenda and this bodes very well for the opportunity to build on existing good practice”.
More than 80 private and public sector businesspeople attended the virtual event held on Tuesday the 15th of December.
